Tooling Gelcoat SP Blue + Hardener TG (set of two components
Технические характеристики
Blue coloured, styrene resistant epoxy gelcoat for mould construction. Very good grinding and polishing properties. Tooling-Gelcoat is processed at room temperature and preliminarily cured for 24 h. A follwing post cure at elevated temperatures will improve the mechanical as well as the chemical properties and is highly recommended (> 40 °C / 15h). Heat distortion temperatures up to 120 °C could be reached (post cure at 100 °C / 15 h). A heating rate of < 10 °C/h is recommended, to prevent warpage and a print-through of the weave pattern.
After 90 minutes gelling time the lay-up could begin. A proper chemical bond is possible even after 24 h of preliminary curing with the most typical laminating resins. Preliminary tests are strongly suggested.
It could be processed in conjunction with epoxy laminates or laminating ceramic. The gelcoat is hard elastic (Shore D hardness 85-90) and exibits a good edge strength.
Consumption approx. 0,5–1 kg/m².
Processed with hardener TG at a mixing ratio of 100 : 20 parts per weight.
Potlife: 35 minutes (250 g batch at 25 °C)
Properties:
- Excellent styrene resistance
- High heat distortion temperature possible (up to 120 °C*)
- Very good grinding and polishing properties
- Thixotropic (non drip)
- Manufactured in vacuum, so optimally free of air bubbles and homogeneous
* after post cure at 100-120 °C / 15 h
Application:
- Negative moulds for hand lay-up and vacuum moulding
- Thermoforming moulds
- RTM moulds
- Could be used as high quality gelcoat for parts as well
- UP laminated molds/press tools
